fees, payment & policies
Intentional Talk Therapy is owned and operated in the Sunflower State.
ITT offers professional counseling to teenagers and adults via telehealth.
I’m Valarie, a Kansan, small business owner, counselor and soon to be confidant in your healing process.
Essentially, we’ll be entering into a relationship in which I will listen without judgment
and offer professional insight through evidence-based techniques aimed at improving your mental health.
A session is more than just a conversation. It’s an exploration of situation, self and strengths.
If you’re ready to heal and invest in a life you love, keep reading.

Private Pay
This is a fee-for-service business that does not take insurance. There are many other counselors who do take insurance. ITT services are pay as you go.
Benefits include:
- no involvement from a third party
- no diagnosis going on your record
- no taking off extra time from work to travel to an appointment
With telehealth, I meet you where you are at.
With private pay, you’re in the driver’s seat.
A superbill will be provided upon request. It is your responsibility to submit the superbill to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Sliding Scale available with proof of income.
Payment Options
Credit or Debit card information must be provided in advance in order to book your session. It will not be charged until after the session is complete.
This is to ensure that you are fully invested in your healing process. More about that below under Why These Policies.
Once you receive an invitation and set up your account on therapyportal, you’ll submit your payment information to be securely stored and charged following our session.
Policies & Late Cancellation
I understand that life happens; we get sick or stuck in situations. There will be times when we need to cancel or reschedule our appointment. Such is life.
However, I also understand that when it comes to therapy, it is one thing to sign up and quite another to actually show up. Unfortunately, late cancellations and no shows are common in counseling.
Therefore, please observe the following.
There is a $30 late cancellation fee and a $30 no-show fee. A late cancellation is considered canceling within 24 hours of your appointment.
You will receive two appointment reminders: 48 and 24 hours prior to our session.
If you are a no-show or late cancel for your first appointment, you will not be charged, though you’ll need to pay the $30 late cancellation fee before being allowed to rebook.
Why these policies?
There’s a high demand for mental health professionals. My inventory is my time, which is limited and non-renewable.
Additionally, every no-show or late cancellation is a missed opportunity for someone else to better themselves. By not showing up you’re taking away someone else’s chance to get the help that they need and deserve.
These policies are in place to demonstrate your investment and commitment to your healing process. Your understanding of this is appreciated.
