Grit: the internet says grit is courage and resolve, strength of character, an enduring interest or the stick-to-itiveness to meet long term goals. You likely have a lot of grit, even if you feel otherwise. As a strength-based therapist, I build upon the courage you’ve displayed and ways you’ve resolved challenges in the past. I will give you new tools, yes, though we’ll sharpen the ones you already have. The right tools are key to carving out change, creating obtainable goals and having the grit to see things through.

  • Grace: we all deserve some grace from time to time, especially during the healing process. I offer insight that allows for an enhanced understanding so that we may move through challenging situations or adverse times with greater compassion and less anxiety. We’ll learn to forgive ourselves, and others, for behaviors that once protected us but now hold us back. The world can be harsh, yeh? Let’s learn to be gentle and give ourselves (and others) a little bit of grace.
  • Gratitude: there’s a multitude of really cool benefits behind the science of gratitude. It’s often an antidote to anger, stress and uncertainty. It’s good for your health and has positive impacts on mental wellness. It’s even considered a gateway to happiness. Some suggest it’s impossible to think about anger and gratitude at the same time. Gratitude helps us to reframe our negative thought patterns and experiences so that we can let go of our pain and instead, hold steadfast to the things that bring us joy.
